July 2009

"Can you capture their energy, their joy of just being outdoors"?  That was the request of NBC Nightly News producer
Patrice Fletcher on our latest assignment featuring Camp Rhythm, a camp for kids with cardiac problems.  Sponsored by
the Cardiac Department of Children's Hospital of St. Louis, MO, Camp Rhythm takes the kids out of the hospital and into
the woods to enjoy camp much the same way as any other child would.  The one exception, the counselors,
administrators, and directors are all staff members of the cardiac unit at Children's. There to ensure each child's special
needs are addressed.  Doctors dressed as clowns, Kids playing doctor are just a couple of the ways the kids get to have
some role reversal and a day of escape.  It was a pleasure to bring this story to the public, there were smiles
wherever you turned the camera.
